    I do the same thing. The students write their draft, edit on their own and then I correct the more difficult spelling words and underline the high frequency words that they should know how to spell. I mark the draft as their task. Then I have them copy and correct , I also mark the good copy to make sure they make the corrections. I get 2 marks the first having more weight than the "good copy" .The good copy is kept in a publishing folder , the drafts we write in a notebook so I have a "portfolio" of drafts and published work.
