No More Yelling
By Cherylyn

Clip to ScrapBook
I am an art teacher, and only see the kids for 50 minutes, so every second counts if the students want to get done. I often use a timer for completing projects, but I also found that just ringing the timer if the students are too loud gets their attention and their natural reaction is to look in the direction of the noise, and since I am holding the ringing timer, their eyes quickly focus on me. Then I award a strike, first is a warning, second is 5 minutes silent time, and third is silent until their teacher picks them back up...
Hope this helps... : )
