At the school were I student taught AR was a big deal. Some of the things that they did were:
Have clubs for students who had 25 points, 50 points, etc. There was a big bulletin board with the students pictures under each club. The principal also announced the new members during the morning announcement. They were prizes for the club members. Also at the end of the year all the students who had at least 100 points went on a field trip to a nearby city.
