can't wait

Clip to ScrapBook
I usually poke my head in the door, laugh, and say, "So...am I fired or what?" The reaction has always been a laugh and an offer for a time to meet. Of course, you have to be a bit of a cut-up and expected to say just about
anything. I get away with a lot because they never know what I'm going to say next. Today, in my post-eval I told the new principal that I didn't know if he'd know what he was doing when he came to evaluate or not--and I sure would have hated to have to tell him he got it wrong! He got a good laugh out of it, and it relaxed the atmosphere so that we had an enjoyable conversation
for the next 25 minutes or so--during which I was able to very seriously address some campus and curriculum needs that I had wanted an opportunity to bring up with him. I hope you have a principal with whom you could enjoy a good laugh, too. It sure makes waiting a lot easier when you feel free to deal with it humorously.
