Divisibility Jingle
By Lou

Clip to ScrapBook
Here is the Divisibility Jingle I made up. It is sung to the tune of BINGO.

There was a number; it was 2!
What's the divisibility rule?
See if it's even; see if it's even; see if it's even;
Yes, that's the rule
for 2!

There was number; it was 3!
What's the divisibility rule?
Add the digits, divide by 3; add the digits, divide by 3; add tdd the digits, divide by 3;
Yes, that's the rule for 3!

There was a number; it was 5!
What's the divisibility rule?
Look at the end for a 0 or 5; look at the end for a 0 or 5; look at the end for a 0 or 5;
Yes, that's the rule for 5!

There

was a number; it was 6!
What's the divisibility rule?
The rules of 2 and 3 you mix; the rules of 2 and 3 you mix; the rules of 2 and 3 you mix;
Yes, that's the rule for 6!

There was a number; it was 9!
What's the divisibility rule?
Add the digits, divide by 9; add the digits, divide by 9; add the digits, divide by 9;
Yes, that's the rule for 9!

There was a number; it was 10!
What's the divisibility rule?
Look for a zero at the end; look for a zero at the end; look for a zero at the end;
Yes, that's the rule for 10!

That's it! We don't teach divisibility for 4, but if you do, just write another verse. I hope this will help some of you!
