The Landry News
By ASullivan

Clip to ScrapBook
Yes, I read The Landry News with a group of my fourth graders (higher readers). I located some questions at the follwing web site http://www.multcolib.org/talk/yrca/guides-landry.htm
after doing a search online. After completing the book, I had my students create a school newsletter. We first examined the local paper. They chose an editor and photographers, brainstormed story ideas, prepared and conducted interviews, wrote their drafts and typed them using a few very ancient laptops that had been donated by a business. They then went
throught editing/revising process. Finally, they chose their layout from the Microsoft Word templates and determined the order of the articles and photos. They had a great time and were thrilled to be able to take such a professional looking piece home to their parents. Good luck!
