I seen your post and thought I would post an idea. When I was in 6th grade my teacher loved Egypt. She had tons of dresses she would wear she had egyptian curtains in her class. You might want to ask the main teacher if you could do some decorating. Have a sketch of a cauphin(Sp) of say King Tut and put it on the over head so the students can trace it on to a big peace of paper. Then have then color it. I also have found some nice egyptian books at this resale books store by me. You can go and look to find some great illustration type books. Also you can do a session for learning Hiroglipics(sp) and get them to design a piece of cardboard in a long oval circle and put there name on it in hirogliphics(sp) maybe you can even put it in the hallway for others to see. Also I think it is a great unit, I remember my 6th grade teacher just for this. How about watching a history movie about Egypt and there life and how they dressed the mummies for the trip to the afterlife. Also maybe make up some dittos with there Kingsd and Queens and there Gods (ex. Rah)These are some fun ideas to do. At the end of the year we got to decorate a shirt (which I still have lol) and we had to walk around the classes dancing to (Walk like an Egyptian) we did feel alittle funny but I mean it was fun lol try this I found this for you http://www.proteacher.com/090012.shtml sorry for all the misspellings Andrea F
