Pocahontas
By Kay M.

Clip to ScrapBook
I might suggest to begin by teaching children about harmful cultural stereotypes that have been perpetuated by : the movie industry, retailers, and outdated printed historical materials--which live on through the electronic archives. You might begin with a K-W-L chart. This will provide you with a clear accounting of what your students know and how they have acquired this info. Your role is to present historical information that is not biased. Be sure to check references. Good Teaching to you.
