Word Wall

I put my math vocabulary words on the wall as a tree map. Words are grouped by the four different goals in our math curriculum. We review the definitions (of course) when working on material, but only the word is on the wall. Each Friday I pick 5 words from the wall and have students add them to their spelling test. They have to write or draw an explanation of what the word means. It's a quick way to assess whether or not they're learning the math vocabulary.
