Someone to talk to

This happeened to a girl in my son's class last year (5th) two times. One time the parent recovered but sadly another parent died. I was impressed most when the school(parochial) sent a social worker to the class so that the kids could all express their concerns. The social worker also pulled the little girl out of class and spent time talking to her one-to-one. Is there a social worker or guidance counselor in your district who could come and talk to the girl?
