how about comic strips?
By t

Clip to ScrapBook
How about sequencing a series of events using comic strips cut apart frame by frame? Challenge student groups to read the strip its regular way--do this by copying the same 4 or 5 same strip for everyone. Then collect and
distribute envelopes with the same strip cut into the 4 or 5 frames. Students have to reassemble in the correct order. As they do, facilitate and focus on their strategies for sequencing. Then pull the groups together and review what you did stressing the use of time order words. You will really have to search hard to find a strip that has a clear sequential order, but it might be worth
it. Then distribute a sheet with four or five blank frames (Reading: A Novel Approach has a template) and challenge groups to create their own sequential strip--focus on language first, illustrating to culminate.
