Oh Brother!

Considering the grade level, I may not have denied the child the opportunity to take the test, but I'm sure I would have addressed the not following directions issue, maybe by asking the class to look at Johnny & tell me
what part of the directions he missed.

That said, man, what a mountain out of a molehill! You didn't get your sub perk today (not dealing with parents!). I can't get over what an issue the parent made out of the incident. The kid was probably over it by the time he got to the car! I've had students that age sob as if their heart was breaking over something one minute & be laughing

the next. All Dad's ire is teaching this child is that he does not have to accept the consquences of his own actions, & now the child knows that he has the power to "get a teacher in trouble"!

I bet he listens carefully to directions next time, though!
