I have had that same thing happend to me several times. Most students seem to like me (especially the older childrens)more than they do their own teacher. I always read the student information sheets to see weather a child has a problem medical , physical are mental. Then I speek with that student on what I look for in him/her. I give hugs and smiles (something that most of then do'nt get at home or school). reading the information sheets tel alot about a child , I use them so that I could make better judgements about a student. example: If a student A.D.D. I'd know if he/she has no self control that it could be because of the disorder that he/she has.
