I'm sure you've tried all these before, but here are a few ideas that have worked for me. ---When you are beginning the transition time, whisper your instructions, so the kids have to listen carefully to follow directions. ---I have my kids in groups, and reward the quietest group. ---Turn it into a game, use sign language instead of words. ---I also have my kids tiptoe, walk backwards, whisper walk (don't ask what it is...I let them decide what they think it is...), and just use other gimics (spelling sorry) to try and make it different and new. ---If it is a constant problem, we use D-slips | | (detention or discipline slips) and have the kids list what rule they broke, and what they will do differently next time. I usually only have to give them a warning slip to show them I am serious.
