The school I am teaching in this year is brand new. Although the building looks wonderful, the teachers have many complaints. One of the biggest complaints is the lack of storage space. The teachers never realized how much
room they had in the old school 'til they moved to this one. No, they did not have much say in the design of this building. Also, the placement of the electric sites didn't work with the architectual design(all the contractors are pointing at each other). Another thing they really wanted was room to display student work. The upper floor grades have to display their work on lockers b/c

there isn't any other place to put it except for some small areas in the classrooms.
I think you could get some great ideas about room designs from teachers who have just moved into new buildings.
