Whatever kind of storage you have, make it covered up! Bookshelves are fine, because of course it's great to see books, but I do not want to have to look at piles of construction paper, stacks of crayon boxes, a bunch of useless teacher's editions, and old craft supplies. All this stuff looks cluttered, so cabinets and drawers are a must.
