Sometimes I experience both on the same day!
I do agree with some of what Heather and Patricia were saying. I have been subbing over 2 years now, and it is frustrating to see someone else get a position that I know I
worked hard for and thought I would get. I also have dealt with negativity that Patricia speaks of, such as "You'll be a real teacher someday" when I knew that I already am.
I also agree with what sj was saying, that as a sub, you go in and do the best that you can. Some things "go with the territory".
I have days where I am angry and upset (not many, and I keep them to myself)

and days where I feel hopeful.
My point to all of this is, even though Heather is coming off in a negative light, she may just be going through a frustrating period of her life. Noone should see it as a personal attack. It's her reality right now.
