What are the other kids doing while you teach small groups by Donna Marriott. I ordered my book through Scholastic. I've tried all types of centers in my teaching career, but I felt the centers described in the book were meaningful and the kids were learning skills that they would learn in 3/4 grade. It is just not busy work. They are also self-managed, and the kids love them. If you decide to use the book, let me know and I can tell you some tips I've learned by trial and error. I hope this helps.
