Pumpkin Measurement and Estimation
By Jesica

Clip to ScrapBook
Have the students determine the following things about pumpkins. I am putting my kids in groups with a pumpkin but maybe you could lead a whole group activity with one.

Weight
Number of vertical lines
Circumference
Height
Number of Seeds

Before taking each measurement have each student record an estimate. Then you could make charts with the estimates, too high, too low, and just right.
For circumference each student can cut a length of string they think is the appropriate length, etc.

All these things make great displays.
