The vocab. word is printed in large print on a sheet of paper. I give a sentence with context clues and above the word students write what they think the word means based on the context clues. Then they look up and copy the definition from their glossary below the word. Last, they draw a picture to illustrate the word. These are handed in and graded as a classwork grade or can be given as Homework. The other idea is to put the words and definitions in a container and play a game where a student pulls out a word and has to define it, or pulls out the definition and has to name the word. They have teams and get a point for each correct answer. Good luck!
