I teach first grade and this is my second year. This is the first time I have used writers workshop. There are two books out. They are both Four Blocks Book. The writers workshop one and the mini-lessons for first grade. I use it everyday and we only do writers workshop for a half hour. I only conference with a few kids a day. They keep writing on different topics. Once they finishe three pieces they get to edit one and then publish it. Hope this helps!
