1. I knew I wanted to be a teacher, went to college for it, and got a teaching job.
2. It is truly rewarding to teach and care for children.

11. Yes, when I 've had really tough classes of children it has drained me of all my energy and affected my life outside
of work drastically.
12. I currently teach all subjects of 3rd grade.
13. There are so many! flexibility, patience, organization, time management, people skills, problem solving, ability to relate to all types of people, knowledge of psychology, creativity,etc.

15. First of all, know that it will be very hard in the beginning. Know that teaching is not all fun and children are not all sweet and easy to deal with all the time. Know that a lot of what you learn in college is theory and idealistic. Get as much real experience as possible (through your internships and subbing). Know that you need to have a really strong work ethic and be willing to work "overtime" and on weekends.
