No Child Left Behind

This law is more than 600 pages long. My opinion is that it is a design to set up urban schools for failure by imposing unreasonably high goals that schools have to pass. Bush and his cronies in a few years will be able to say, "See we told you they were failing." That will open up the door for private corporations who would love to get their hands on education budgets to take over. This is the trend all over the globe in many fields - privatize, bust unions, and drive down wages.Also embedded in this law is a provision that school districts must turn over names and addresses of high school students so that the military can recruit public school students.
