No Child Left Behind

I think one of the reasons for all of the confusion is that the states had to implement this federal law with very vague information, and different states (and even different districts) are interpreting it in different ways. It seems as if in some districts, the interpretation changes every time you turn around.

There's a federal government website, nochildleftbehind.gov, that describes the act and has a FAQ list that gives a general picture of what the provisions are in laymen's (not lawyers') terms. Unfortunately, the devil is in the details, and it seems to me that there are a lot of details that aren't being fully explained.
