retarded- slow or limited in intellectual or emotional development or acadedmic progress. Merriam-Webster Dictionary 2002 impaired- being in a less than perfect or whole condition; handicapped or functionally defective. Mirriam-Webster
| Dictionary 2002 Impaired is your "good word" for the condition. Which one sounds more offensive to you? I am 25 and I think you were wrong to say that "retarded" does not bother older people because they are used to it and have not changed with the times. Try having some respect for the older and usually wiser instead of calling them "dated". PJM- You were quick to attack and then quick to run away when you were called on it.
