SP ED 2..HAVE YOU READ A SINGLE WORD OF MY POSTS?

I guess not. Sp Ed 2,You have really "ticked me off"! You say to BLS that "we" have asked you to stop saying mentally retarded. You and who else... one other "nitpicker"??! If it bothers you SO much, just don't read BLS's
posts and the rest of us will try to help her deal with the problem instead of picking her apart .You say parents of retarded children are offended by the term I have REPEATEDLY STATED that is not true for many, maybe even most of us. I am the parent of a Moderately retarded child (Low 50 s). I AM NOT OFFENDED by the term mentally retarded and none of my friends are. As a matter of

fact, when we discuss our loved one's handicap, WE use the term mentally retarded. Our local group is called the _____Association for Retarded Citizens. It is a Support and Advocacy(msp?) group for the retarded.. Just because you don't use that term does not mean that it is written in stone that it is not a correct term.( Now, tomato..You say tow--mot-o.... I say tow-may-tow...which of us is right?) BOTH. HOW dare you say that if a person uses the term mentally retarded instead of terms YOUR district uses that they need to show some compassion? How dare you! I am so angry you said this to poor BLS that I could chew nails.
BLS....IGNORE this person's attitude , here and there she has dispensed some good advice...too bad she had to inject her venom as well.This is not my usual tone on this board...perhaps it is because I am going through a rough time personally. But,SP ED 2, I really think you must not have read a WORD I said in my other posts on this thread!
