Reversals are a real troublesome area for some first graders, whether they are l.d. or not. Someone showed me this little trick years ago and it has really helped. Have your students make a fist with each hand with the thumb sticking straight up. Put the fists together. The left hand is the b, right hand is the d. Turn the hands over with the thumbs pointing down and the left hand is the p, right hand is the q! Hope this helps.
