Clip to ScrapBook
Set up a time to meet with her in your room and come up with a plan as to what to do with her child when he does not finish work. As her what she does with her students when this happens. In my room they miss the next recess
to complete work. If it is not finished by then then I correct it... finished or not and send it home that way. Tell her what you do with the others that fail to complete assignments.Ask her if she thinks her child should be treated differently than the others. If she thinks her child needs recess more than work then tell her that you will send all unfinished work home and it must
be returned the next day. If she does not keep up her end then I guess his grades will suffer. What is he doing during work time??If he is just staring into space it could be ADD. Mention this to her if you feel this is the case. It may get ugly but you will feel good about yourself after you meet with her on your terms. This is not going to be easy.
