Hang in there

BLS,

After I wrote my post I noticed you wrote a second message.
A few years ago we used "mentally retarded." Then the former school division I taught in didn't like the word "retarded." So we changed to "mentally
disabled." Then last year we were having problems receiving federal money due to using "mentally disabled." The federal government thought we were referring to students with emotional/behavior disabilities. It looked like we didn't have any MR students thus funding was unavailabe for my former school which was the regional MR program. To receive the federal money we have to use "mentally
retarded."
It appears you are being sincere about needing advice.
In my personal opinion the Lord doesn't give you anything you can't handle. For "teachers" to state that they hope your child is not born with a disability is unprofessional and cruel. I will continue to pray for you and hope this situation improves.
We need to get along and support each other eventhough we may take some messages personal. As I tell my students if you can say anything respectful, then be quiet.
