I can appreciate your position

I didn't use the passes until last year. My policy used to be the same as yours, but I had parent complaints, and a few accidents. It may not work for every teacher or every kid (this year I have 2 parents who told me thir
kids have weak bladders and must go when they need to, so they do).
But for the rest, it works. Everyone has an occasional emergency, and i want them to be able to go, but discourage non-emergencies with the passes and monthly reward.
I'd love for this bathroom-use problem to simply not be a problem, but I found that once one goes, then there was a suddenly large group of kids who

also needed to go. I also found that they didn't want to use the restroom at recess because it cut into their play time.

I am in a portable classroom, and the restroom is outside and across the playground. But, I don't really think that the placement of the restroom is an issue as I just don't want them leaving, but don't want wet pants either.
