You did the right thing
By Ellie

Clip to ScrapBook
I have run into similar problems with the older kids. The only kids that I usually let out of the class are the kids that are going to resource, but if you have doubts, keep them in the class. Not only do you not want everyone to think that they can make up excuses to get out of class, but it also it covers your butt. It is always better to be safe than sorry, and I would much rather have a student miss "computer room" (or whatever) than have something bad happen to them when they should have been in the class.
YOU did the right thing!

I agree that if you let it be known that will make a note to the teacher about requests to leave the class, there will be a lot fewer requests.
