Food
By Down Under

Clip to ScrapBook
I've never taught the littlies before but some of these might be adaptable for your age group.
My kids had to blindfold a partner and have them taste three different foods with their noses blocked. The foods were supposed
to taste the same. The ones I tried were apple, potato and the fleshy part of a cucumber. The kids could tell that they tasted different so they had to vote which one was which instead.
Sweet, salty and sour liquid solutions could be poured into identical cups and the kids have to vote which ones which.
One particular mushy food (yummy, preferably) that has been couloured
differently and the kids have to guess which one tastes the best because colour can affect our tastebuds.
Cooking:- some foods change when heated, like eggs, and don't go back to the way they were before whereas chocolate may change shape when heated and then cooled but it still tastes the same. And lets face it anything that involves chocolate is usually a hit.
Hope these things whet your appetite.
