Using the five kinds of animals: Mammals, Fish, Birds, Reptiles, and Amphibians is always easy. You could describe characteristics of each -how the young are born, cold/warm blooded, body covering, breathing (lungs or gills, does the young look like miniature parent when born.

There are lots of possibilities, but this would be pretty organized.
