changing grades

The first year I taught a veteran told me to try teaching everything I was certified to teach before settling into a level for 30 years. I took her advice. I have been teaching 11 years. I am certified K-8 and have taught everything except 4 and 8 (but there's still time). I have taught self-contained classes, taught in teams, and been depatmentalized. Now I know where my strengths are and where my heart is. You are starting to learn that, too.
Definately move around if you have the chance to do so. Life is too short and teachers are too valuable to waste a good teacher in a bad fitting assignment.
