What about like a journal activity- telling about a time when they were friends with someone who was different than them...or something related to friendship- since that's the overall theme of the book. I also made bat magnets out of clothespins and felt...the students could make a bat and write a story about the adventures of their bat. Maybe their's could meet a different creature and they could tell about the difficulties they have being friends since they are so different.
