"Chatty children"
By Amy

Clip to ScrapBook
This is also my first year in K and I also have a chatty bunch. I am often told that my group is much worse than the ones from last year. I have recently changed my behavior management and it seems to be working. I have
a can with green construction paper wrapped around it. I drew a smiley face on this can. Each child has a stick with his/her name on it in this can. When they get a warning THEY move their stick to the yellow can. If I have to warn them again THEY move their stick to the red can. If they get told again to stop their behavior THEY move their stick to the blue can and lose five minutes
of their recess. If at the end of the day they do not move their stick they get a sticker on their behavior chart and at the end of the week, with five stickers they get a prize. I have had comments from other teachers that they see the change in my children's behavior!
