Clip to ScrapBook
We use Shurley Method English to teach expository writing. (2 Point paragraph)
1 Topic sentence( I have two favorite colors.)
2 2 point sentence( Those colors are yellow and red.)
3 1st point sentence( My favorite color is yellow.)
4 Supporting sentence for 1st point( It makes me think of bright, sunny summer days.)
5 2nd point sentence( I also love red.)
6 Supporting sentence for 2nd point(Red reminds me of the beautiful fall folliage of a sugar maple.)
7 conclusion( These colors remind me of the things I love.)
You can also use this formula to write three point paragraphs. If you have any questions, just email

Sincerely,
Jim Scott
