In addition to the great ideas listed above, I have also created a general dayplan for myself also. This dayplan can be applied to all grade levels. I keep to the schedule, but just substitute different activities/worksheets
- Silent Reading/Teacher Read-Aloud PERIOD FOUR CLEAN UP * Any extra time for good behaviour can be filled in w/ a short game (e.g. 7 UP) I pop this general dayplan in the front of my binder of materials. Behind it is materials for the following grade level groups: K-1, 2-3, 4-5, and 6-7. I've got materials for each part of the dayplan for each grade level. In addition to this, I've also got a box of materials (activity books, extra art materials, storybooks, sneakers (in case of PE), bell and whistle) that I keep in the trunk of my car, in case I need more stuff. I'd love to hear what you all think! Is it a little too much?? Overkill?? : ) I find it helps to put my mind at ease... it's saved my butt once already, as I was left w/ absolutely nothing one day! Bye! Mel
