Reading Logs
By Cheryl

Clip to ScrapBook
Three weeks ago I posted a similar message on another board. With other's great ideas for promoting accountability I decided to grade them every week. Since I assign 60 minutes a week, if they read 60 minutes then they receive 100. If they read 30 minutes then they receive a 50%. It has made a gigantic difference. My kids really are reading but I also think that their index card boxes that are filling up with cards that name the books they've read also helps. Those index cards are keeping them motivated. I too use Laura Chandler's form. It is very comprehensive. If you believe in the weekly reading keep at it, the tide will turn. I saw it happen.
