Reading - To Trina
By Heather

Clip to ScrapBook
It was hard to teach her to put letters together to make a word at first. I am not sure who it was harder for, me or her! She knows all the sounds that her letters make, so what I did was give her simple words like bat,
cat, pig, hot etc. .. and had her sound out each letter seperatly ans faster until she sounded out the whole word. It took her a while to learn every sound of the alphabet, but once we finished, she loved it,and watching her older brother and sister read, she was eager to read and it made her work harder at sounding out words. I have several books that have words in them no longer tahn
4 letters. I try to make it a game. Right now, I am stuck at teaching her to read, I want to make sure that I teach her the right way, and not pressure her that is why I was asking for some suggestions. I have so many ideas, and reproductibles if you need them, just e-mail me.
