-read the Great Kapok Tree by Lynne Cherry -Have each student research rainforest plants and animals, write reports, and draw a picture of their animal -discuss the importance of the rainforest -Use maps/globes to show how the rainforest has gotten smaller of the years -do a rainforest play and perform for parents -write letters to senators emphasizing why we need to protect the rainforest
