Rewards

Clip to ScrapBook
Last year, at an Accelerated Reader training, our school discovered a cute way to reward the students. It is also a hallway display -- but instead of stars, the kids earn pieces to a picture. For example, if you chose Peanuts as your theme -- for 10 points they could earn a doghouse, 25 points they would earn Snoopy, 50 points they could earn Charlie Brown. They would decorate their piece and have it displayed in the hallway. The kids really enjoy being one of the first to earn a new piece...or reaching the higher goals. Everyone recognizes when more has been added to the walls.

Other ideas (besides Peanuts) were the ocean, circus, planets, etc.
