I am still a practicum student, so I can't relate just yet, however, my classroom management teacher at school advises that you prioritize your life in the following order and stick to it.
1. Your family/spiritual life
2. Friends
3. Work
He has a PHd in Ed., has been a principal and teacher for many years, has written several books, and is very well-respected at my university. He says, "Get a life!" I know that long hours may be necessary sometimes, but I am going to try to stick to his words of wisdom.
