Clip to ScrapBook
I'll let you know what happens (she's coming Tuesday) and I'm going to find a spot for her before she arrives so she is not right next to her child. The reason I say I don't think it will be helpful to have her here is that
every time I call her to report his behavior (and it's almost on a daily basis) she makes excuses for him. The best was when he sharpened his pencil and then walked by one of the other kids and said "this pencil is so sharp I could kill you with it" Other kids heard this, I didn't, and when I explained to mom what happened she said "no he would never say anything like that" I told
my VP that it does no good to call her because she does nothing and just tells me that she'll talk to him. He doesn't seem at all phased when I tell him I'm going to call his mother. My VP made the call this time and I think that is why the mother decided to come in. VP told mom that the kid needs counseling and some anger mgmt books.
I don't know if I should have done this or not, but after sending him to the office on Friday I told the other kids in my class to go home and tell their parents what happens in our classroom each day because of this child. I want them to call and complain. In my school, every time we send a child to the office we have to fill out a report about what happened and get together enough work for them to complete while in the office. That means that I have to stop teaching the rest of the class to cater to this one child that could care less about learning anything. The other kids are good about waiting for me and they know now that when he acts up they should take out something to do independently until I can get back to them. I don't have any kids of my own, but if I did and they were in a class like this, I would be furious!
