Ending discussion By Heather

I am ending this discussion. No one on this board can change the fact that there are stuck up, snobby teachers out there that treat subs (in and out of the class) as if they are ignorant. Yea, teachers have no way of knowing| what degree a sub holds if any. That shouldn't matter. What matters is if the sub runs your class smoothly, and follows your plans correctly. If they don't, then tell her, but don't turn your nose up at ALL subs, beacause of a bad experience with one whom may not have been qualified or expereinced enough to be in a classroom. Some of the remarks that were made about teachers | | who would rather split their children up in small groups to other teachers while they are out, and such are ridiculous remarks, and they must have had a bad experience with a sub. I feel for that teacher. God forid that that teacher have to be out for a long period of time, and a sub has to go to her room. I just pray that things are done properly for you. I must have struck a nerve with some of the teachers that wrote in about this subject. I apoligize for that. All that I am saying is stop sterotyping subs. If there is a problem with a particular sub, tell her, or administration, and ask for her not to come back.. Keep your remarks to yourself about unqualified subs. All that I can say is one day what you say about someone will come back on you. I know, I have seen it done. I know that when teachers are gone, they want to be assured that the sub knows exactly what to do and how to handle things. I understand that they leave 10 page notes. That doesn't bother me at all. Again, I am ending this conversation, it could go on forever, and I am not wasting time on it anymore.
