Hi T,
Do you have the books Guided Reading, Word Matters and Interactive Writing? These are also by the same authors and explain their theories for K-2 classrooms. You'll need to do a combination of both, start with the K-2 model and transition to the 3-6 model after second quarter. I went to a workshop where they presented their models in a diagram form, with the 2nd GL transitions. If you want, I can fax it to you. Just email if you're interested. Take care! ;-D
