Clip to ScrapBook
I have a 20 minute "center time" at the end of the school day. This is when the kids can choose to be at the art center, block center, house corner (yes, I do have one of those in my first grade class!:-), computers, etc. This is my carrot and discipline tool. If a child is really misbehaving, they sit on the big rug and watch the other kids have centertime. (They HATE that!) If a child is misbehaving, I can tell them, "I know you want all your centertime today. In order to do that, you need to ________." This way they're working TOWARD something and it gives you a bargaining chip. Hope this is helpful!
