What I do

Hi. This is my first year teaching first grade. I think every school and teacher has their own thoughts on hands-on/worksheet balance. I like to introduce a new concept using hands-on activities and manipulative. Then, have students use worksheets to practice and assess their knowledge. Sometimes I play a game or use other hands-on activities to reinforce the concept or review. There may be times that I do worksheets only. It really all depends on what I'm teaching and what resources/ideas I'm able to find. Good luck!
