When my son came home from his first day of first grade, he began to tell me about when the teacher started handing out workbooks. He said, "It was a really big book, and I don't already know how to read, so my knees were just going like this under the desk 'cause I don't know that much stuff already.(and he bumped his fists together several times) I always remember his story when I hand out books and new materials and wonder how many little kids are sitting there thinking they have to know "all that stuff already"
