Class Size

This is my second year teaching in Northern NJ. The first year I taught I had 30 ESL kids (2nd/3rd combined) with no aid. That was pure hell. There was just too many kids with too many problems. There was no way I could reach them all. This year I have a regular second grade class with only 17 wonderful students. This is a dream class. I can do so much more with them than I was able to do with last years class. I think that class size matters. I know of one Kindergarten teacher with 35 students and one aid. She looks like she's ready to cry every day.
